Actually some web host helps you to understand those knowledge that you need. But you are using worpress, you just need to know how to use it. Actually it doesn’t need you to have knowledge of that because some web host have one click installer so its hassle free and very easy interface that you would understand clearly just like when installing new themes, tools, widgets, pages, plugins etc. Hostgator is one of the web host that has all this features and not only that, they are also cheap and very hassle free. Supports one click installation on most scripts. I have also read this review about them, if you have time you can take a look at this http://www.hostingtopic.com/hostgator-sucks/

Regarding technical knowledge, you must know php, mysql. If you don;t have any designer, then you should know css.

Regarding, web servers, search for US based servers, they are cheap. Some of best are vhost, rackspace. Go for Linux based servers. Also, choose VPS for root access, and better bandwidth.

The first thing you need is a to register a domain name [buying the domain], the best place to register is with Godaddy.com. After that, you need to choose a webhost, one of the more popular is Hostgator.

The web host will provide something called a Cpanel, which you log into will given credentials. To autoinstall wordpress, there’s something called Fantastico. Just click on it and select Fantastico.

If you are really good at following instructions, just follow the Fantastico guidelines. However, you’ll need to know a bit of mySql in order to create a database for the website. After that, you have your site. Then it’s choosing themes and plugins. Check out my post below on the various kinds of WordPress available

The only web hosting company to stand out from all the others is
HostGator.com. They offer several different packages and fantastic customer
service. There are one-click setups for all the popular blogging systems
like WordPress and Joomla. The hosting service is never down and always
quick. They are quite inexpensive but for an even better price use the
following code to get $9 off when signing up (free month):

    SADDLEWADDLE

Don’t worry if you have little experience with websites as HostGator
provides several tools and tutorials to help you along the way
