Who is the best free host out there today?

A frequently-asked query:

Not a blog site like blogger, or wordpress (.com at least), a true free host…
That allows all kinds of scripting, without payment or forum posts. Preferably, with cPanel or DirectAdmin, with Fantastico or similar autoinstaller for wordpress and the like.
Any good free hosts that fit these criteria?

I’ve used namepad before, but unfortunately, they don’t accept sign ups anymore and I removed my previous account.

Thanks.
And FTP. Must have FTP.
First answerer: I never mentioned any problems with subdomains. I never said I wanted a domain. lrn2read
I’m not writing anything worth reading.

I don’t think any website does. Why would they? They’re spending their valuable money on hosting it so you can change it and take all the credit without them getting any advertisements or marketing. You’ll most likely have to stick with subdomain website that’ll have it’s name after your username.

FanFusion allows for all of that and free. But they usually only host fansites and high quality at that.

    Hey mate,

Why waste your time with a free host, when you can get hosting for $5 bucks a month for a single site, and $9 bucks a month for as many sites as you want?

If you are writing something worth reading, and want to really increase your odds of it staying live on the net, get some decent hosting like at Hostgator or something.

Remember, it’s your time you are investing. If it ain’t worth $5 to $8 bucks a month, then…
