HostGator is the best and most reliable web hosting company. I host a few WordPress blogs on my shared hosting plan and have had zero problems. But if for some reason you happen to have any problems their support is really great. Here are some coupon codes to lower the cost http://www.castironhostingreview.com/hostgator-review.html
If you’re looking for a reliable lower priced WordPress hosting option than HostGator check out HostMonster @ only $3.95/Month promo price http://www.castironhostingreview.com/hostmonsterreview.html

Hey, I haven’t actually tried it, but Dropbox is pretty useful for hosting all kinds of files. The "public" folder is de facto Web Hosting, you may even be able to host a blog on it.

Try it out, just copied a referral link: https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTU2NTkyODg5

I just recently setup my own site, I found this article very useful:

    http://www.bryanhadaway.com/web-hosting-best-vs-worst/

I’ve been using the recommended hosting (which is WordPress’ #1 recommendation as well) now for a few months and am very pleased with the overall quality and price. Hope it’s helpful to you too, good luck.

    Thanks

You are probably going to get different answers from different people and keep in mind some of them may be trying to promote affiliate links where they get paid if you buy. With shared hosting you will always have some issues depending on where you get your hosting at. I’ts not a perfect system. I currently have my sites at bluehost, but it can be really slow sometimes. However, It’s rare that I have down time.

Just try talking to people who actually use some of the main hosting providers and see what they are saying about it. Take a chance and just pick one.
