What kind of things do I need to do to get my home/web based business started?

Question: Do I need a business license? How can I get a 1-800 number? Who offers good business site hosting?

Answer: Based on your business hosting question, here is our suggestion. If you are looking for a business hosting or even the best domain host, your best option is to go with Hostgator. Well, they are not totally free – you have to pay $0.01 (by entering the coupon code below at checkout). This coupon code is usable for any shared hosting and even the $24.95 Aluminum reseller hosting. We suggest you do not waste your time with any other unreliable business hosting.

If you are not only looking for a business hosting, but also a good cheap hosting, we suggest you try MyHosting. It is hard to find any negative MyHosting review so we believe they are the best because they give unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage, unlimited addon domains, Site builder and much more for such a low monthly price. You can get MyHosting for only $4.84/month.

Do you have more suggestion? Do you disagree with us? Please leave your comment in the box below.

you might want to look at something called Microsoft Office Live Small Business –

if is totally free for a basic service that you can start with.

you can add the ability to take credit cards using the Pay-pal service – the free portion of it can help too. although there is a pay for service feature that you may want to us later after you business is doing a lot of sales.

finally for phone service. You can get a 800 number from Vonage for about $10.00 more than the regular service. – you can also get fax service from them – if your business needs that.

For example, I have put up a small site using these services in a day or so. The web hosting with Microsoft is great in that it also gives you a email with your site. I don’t know that M$ does much for free that is worth anything but somehow they seem to have gotten this service right.

I’ll get you a couple of links to see what it looks like:

my site as an example – was easy to create using their web builder stuff, isn’t really fancy – but hey, it is a place to start and it didn’t cost me anything, they even registered my domain for free for the first year!

The very first thing you need to know is "how much will this cost me?". If it costs, forget it.
